Live Activities
Design a mobile Live Activities component that tracks one real-time event from start to finish. Think sports match, concert setlist, delivery window, or a product launch countdown — but pick one and commit to it. The feature should live in a compact card first, then expand into a richer view when the user wants detail.
Show three moments clearly: before the event starts, while updates are arriving, and after it ends. Pre-event should set expectation with time, place, and what’s coming next. Live state should surface the most recent update, a visible progress indicator, and a short feed of recent changes. Post-event should swap urgency for recap: final result, key moments, and a clear next step.
Keep the layout fast to scan. The main status, timer, and latest update need to read before any secondary content. If you add polls, reactions, or Q&A, treat them as supporting actions that sit below the core event stream. Include empty/loading/error states that still tell the user what is happening and what they can do next.
What to deliver
- Design the live activity card in collapsed and expanded states
- Show the pre-event, live, and post-event views
- Add one engagement surface, such as polls or Q&A
- Include a compact update feed with timestamps and source labels
- Define loading, no-updates, and event-ended states
Spark curiosity with teaser updates before the event starts to build excitement and anticipation.
