Sharing

Design a share flow for a product item, document, or post. Start from the moment the user taps Share and carry the interaction through destination selection, optional message entry, and final send. The UI should make it clear what content is leaving the app and where it is going. Show the share surface itself: a bottom sheet, modal, or inline panel with common destinations, copy link, and any app-specific targets. If the shared content needs context, include a compact preview with title, thumbnail, and recipient or channel details. Keep the primary action obvious, and make cancel or back easy to reach without clearing the current selection. Include success, error, and retry states. Success should confirm the item was shared and offer a sensible next step, like copy link, share again, or close. Errors should keep the chosen destination and entered message intact so the user can fix the problem without starting over.

What to deliver

  • Design the share trigger and entry point.
  • Show the share sheet or destination picker.
  • Include a preview of what will be shared.
  • Add a confirmation or sent state.
  • Handle cancel, error, and retry states.

To make the sharing flow more engaging, consider animated transitions between steps and personalization options like adding a message or choosing specific recipients before sending.
