Live Photo / Motion Photo
Design the mobile photo viewer for a Live Photo or Motion Photo. The screen opens on the still image, with a clear Live badge and a subtle cue that the photo can be pressed and held to play its motion clip.
The viewer should feel native to a camera roll or gallery app: full-screen media, minimal chrome, and controls that stay out of the way until needed. The still frame must carry the experience on its own before playback starts.
When the user presses and holds, the clip plays in place without breaking the viewer layout. The transition should feel immediate and tied to the image, not like opening a separate player.
Include a key-frame picker for choosing the best still frame from the motion clip. This is the main editing affordance, so it needs to be easy to find, scrub, and confirm without losing the current photo context.
What to deliver
- Design the default viewer state with still image, Live badge, and playback hint
- Design the press-and-hold playback state with in-place motion and visible controls
- Design the key-frame picker with scrubber, frame previews, and selected frame state
- Design the confirm/save state for setting the chosen key frame
- Design any needed fallback for photos without motion data or with unavailable playback
Make the Live badge and the press-and-hold hint visually distinct: one identifies the media type, the other teaches the gesture.
