Multi-Step Signup Flow
Design a mobile sign-up flow that lives on one scrolling screen, broken into clear steps: email entry, profile setup, and optional preferences. It should feel like a native onboarding sequence, not a stacked form dump.
Use progress indicators to show where the user is in the flow and how much is left. The user should always know what step they’re on, what comes next, and which parts are optional.
Each step needs enough breathing room to feel distinct while still reading as one continuous flow. The layout has to support quick scanning, thumb reach, and a clear path from first field to final submit.
The interesting part is balancing momentum with control: keep the user moving forward without making the screen feel long, repetitive, or uncertain about completion.
What to deliver
- Design the full scrolling signup screen with all steps visible in sequence
- Create the progress indicator states for each step
- Show field layouts for email, profile setup, and optional preferences
- Include the primary submit action at the end of the flow
- Design inline validation and helper text where needed
Make the progress indicator tied to the visible step in the scroll, not just the current focus field, so it stays trustworthy as the user moves down the page.
