Onboarding Permission Walkthrough
Design a mobile onboarding walkthrough made of a few short slides. Each slide should explain one key app benefit with a clear visual, a short headline, and minimal supporting copy.
The flow ends in a permission prompt for either notifications or location, so the last screen must transition naturally from value to request. The ask should feel like part of the walkthrough, not a hard stop.
This is for a phone screen, so think vertical pacing, swipe progression, and thumb-friendly controls. Users should understand the point of the app before they are asked for access.
Keep the experience concise. The challenge is to make the feature story memorable in very few screens, then ask for permission at the right moment without losing momentum.
What to deliver
- Design 3–4 onboarding slides with distinct feature callouts
- Add slide progression controls and a clear skip option
- Design the final permission request screen for notifications or location
- Show the transition from feature explanation to permission ask
- Include the post-decline path or later-remind option
Make the final slide do double duty: summarize the benefit that depends on the permission, then place the system ask directly after that explanation so the reason is fresh.
