News Feed
Design a news feed screen for a content app where users browse a continuous stream of stories. The feed should feel fast to scan, with each item showing a clear headline, source, timestamp, and short preview. Use a layout that works for mixed content: some stories with large images, some text-first, and some compact updates.
Give the top of the screen a clear structure: feed title, search, and a way to switch between categories or topics. The feed itself should support simple actions on each item, such as save, share, like, and comment, without making the card feel crowded.
Treat this as a mobile-first screen, but keep the design flexible enough to scale to larger widths. Show how the feed behaves while loading and when filters return no stories. The empty state should point users toward another topic or reset action instead of stopping them.
What to deliver
- Design the feed header with title, search, and filter entry points.
- Lay out a scrollable list of mixed news cards with image, headline, source, time, and snippet.
- Include category chips or tabs to switch between sections.
- Add engagement controls on each card: save, share, like, and comment.
- Show at least one loading state and one empty or no-results state.
Leverage whitespace and typography hierarchies to facilitate readability and focus on content.
